Historic New England

Historic New England is the oldest and largest regional heritage organization in the nation. It owns and operates 36 historical homes throughout New England, including over 1,200 acres of green space, a museum collection of furniture & textiles in the thousands, and a library with upwards of 600,000 images of New England.

In 1974, Peter Lynch accepted his first not-for-profit Trustee role with the Historic New England. As an avid history buff and a novice collector of historical artifacts, Peter was naturally drawn to serve this institution.

Partnering with The Lynch Foundation

The Lynch Family and The Lynch Foundation have supported Historic New England for over 45 years.

Peter’s experience as a Trustee for Historic New England has had a profound impact on The Lynch Foundation and his own philanthropic journey. This experience led to Peter’s ability to serve as a Trustee more effectively on several of Boards & Committees in Boston.

This allowed him to curate connections and networks to influence positive change in the New England community that The Lynch Family loves dearly.

Peter and Carolyn owe a lot to this organization. They were proud to recruit Historic New England’s former President Nancy Coolidge as one of the founding Board members of The Lynch Foundation. Over thirty years later, Nancy Coolidge continues to serve as a Lynch Foundation Trustee and provide invaluable advice and counsel.
