Camp Harbor View

Camp Harbor View serves over 1,000 Boston youth and families annually providing a one-of-a-kind summer camp experience for middle school students, year-round leadership development for high school students, and comprehensive family services including college and career planning, scholarships, and clinical support — all at no cost to families.

Camp Harbor View was conceived in 2007 after a conversation with Mayor Thomas Menino and Jack Connors Jr. Mayor Menino was searching for high-quality summer programming for Boston middle schoolers and Jack recognizing an opportunity recalled his childhood memories of visiting Boston Harbor’s Long Island, which was a city owned property that had been vacant for decades. The two went to visit the site and in less than four months the camp was up and running. The organization has evolved over time to provide year-round programming and family services investing in the well-being of young people and their families over the long term.
